CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
Abstract Submission Deadline: October 20, 2025 at 11:59pm (EST)
We invite ‘Short Talk’ and ‘Workshop’ abstracts on completed studies, works in progress, or innovations on the topic of trust as it relates to health professions and health professions education. These topics can be related to (but not limited to) transformative health education, transformative learning, and critical pedagogy. Abstracts will be reviewed and a limited number will be invited for presentation.
The format of the presentations is as follows:
- Short Talks – Speakers will present for 8 minutes each, at the end of which organizers will take up audience questions for a full group dialogue at the end of each block of presentations
- Workshops – 90-minute interactive workshops will be delivered online or in-person, and will be synchronous sessions that include a live presentation with audience interaction/activities as well as a time for discussion/Q&A.
Please indicate in your submission whether you are submitting for only in-person, only online, or would be fine delivering in either modality.
Short Talks
8 minutes (inclusive of discussion)
These are fast paced presentations. The presentation will be limited to 8 minutes. A group dialogue addressing questions will be held following all of the short talk presentations in the session block.
Interactive Workshops
90 minutes (inclusive of discussion)
Interactive Workshops will be delivered concurrently online or in-person, and will be synchronous sessions that include a live presentation with audience interaction/activities as well as a time for discussion/Q&A. Please indicate in your submission whether you are submitting for only in-person, only online, or either. Participants in these workshops should be asked to generate something through individual or collaborative work, such as reflective writing, collaborative brainstorming, generative problem-solving, design thinking exercises, etc., and online synchronous activities such as responding to polls, posting in the chat, writing on whiteboards or files, or contributing to shared documents are all suitable interaction processes.
