Planning Process and Principles
Teaching for Transformation (TforT): Annual Conference+ would like to share that our planning and decision making processes (including abstract decisions) are rooted in a reflexive consideration of decolonial, anti-oppressive and anti-racist approaches. We are continually striving for program improvement and inclusive communities, asking ourselves critically reflexive questions that are further informed by a commitment to:
- Accessibility
- Inclusivity
- Collaboration
- Community
These principles are detailed in a forthcoming Anti-Oppressive Program Development Tree from the CFD.
We acknowledge our TforT community contributes collectively to our constant learning and growth. At every planning stage, we ask ourselves reflexive questions about representation, roles and relationships, and responsibility. We are always learning with and from diverse community members, documenting our decisions and processes, and revisiting these as we learn more.
Teaching for Transformation (TforT) is jointly offered by Centre for Faculty Development (CFD) and Centre for Advancing Collaborative Healthcare & Education (CACHE), which are both extra-departmental units of the University of Toronto and Toronto Academic Health Sciences Network, based at Unity Health Toronto and University Health Network, respectively.
