Medical and health professions educators, like other academics, are asked to ‘demonstrate the impact’ of their work. This is also known as the impact agenda, as institutions “attemp[t] to impose accountability on academics for the public funding of research” (Holbrook, 2017).
In order to demonstrate impact, one must first be able to answer: what is impact?
